An affirmative action plan (AAP) is a requirement for certain employers doing business with the federal government. The purpose of an AAP is to promote equal employment and improve employment opportunities for women, minorities, people with disabilities, and veterans. AAPs are not only complex to create and maintain, they are also subject to audit and could results in an organization losing federal contracts and/or being assessed penalties.
Are you a federal contractor or subcontractor with 50 or more employees and either (1) have a federal government contract worth at least $50,000, (2) serve as a depository for government funds in any amount, or (3) are a financial institution which is an issuing and paying agent for U.S. Savings Bonds and Savings Notes? Your organization may be required to have an AAP.
Join NAE for a webinar to discuss affirmative action plans, including the legal requirements for a compliant affirmative action plan, why affirmative action plans are required, and how to develop and maintain one.
