Description

In our heavily litigious system here in America, it is not uncommon for employers to receive notice from either the EEOC or the Nevada Equal Rights Commission (NERC) that a current or former employee has filed a Charge of Discrimination. In fact, many employers have accepted this as a price of doing business.

Our legal system is set up in such a way that current or former employees have the ability to file a Charge of Discrimination against their current or former employer, whether or not their claims have any merit, with relatively little risk and at little to no cost. This resulted in over 70,000 claims filed with the EEOC alone in 2019. In order to mount a successful defense and limit legal liability against these claims, employers must adequately respond to the Charge.

In this webinar, we will discuss the basics of responding to a Charge of Discrimination. This includes writing effective position statements, responding to Requests for Information, and engaging in alternative dispute resolution programs.
