Gossip is often how people socialize with each other. It’s a form of communication. However, it also often involves communicating negative and unverified information. While the gossip may start between a small group of people, it inevitably expands and as it expands what may have started as something small can snowball into something completely different and damaging. In the workplace, gossip can lead to long list of negative consequences, including lose of trust, divisiveness, and a work environment so toxic it causes your good employees to leave.
